The space is already heavily used by students and teachers as a quiet space to study and learn; it is busiest between 1pm and 4pm. This is a well known area within the library and is the only place to have group discussions and to use your own laptop to study instead of using the computers provided and booking a room. The space is not massive but its a good amount of space to work with, there is only one window and fire exit with double doors. The space at the moment is bland and dull, with white walls and grey carpet, they have tried to incorporate some colour into the space with the use of seating.
This design is made entirely out of books, you can even walk inside or sit down. This was made for a Library project and the use of books is clever and imaginative.
This is another imaginative design where you can walk inside a circle of books; I can imagine this being a bit dangerous or even uncomfortable to read a book in. Although this is a clever design and it looks good I think this wouldn’t be a practical design.
I really like this design it combines a desk area and shelf all in one; it also looks great and is compact and would be perfect in a small space.
I think this design is amazing because its not your normal shelf; its a compact way of storing the books and also sends a message to the viewer. Displaying the books in this way can attract people to come and look because the design is so interesting.
This Library design is interesting too because the space has a curved shelving system with a seating area in the middle. I find rooms like this exciting because i feel like i’m in a little world of my own and cut off from the rest of the room even though it has no doors to actually cut of from the rest of the space.
